Your cPanel password protects your whole hosting account — files, email, databases and settings. Change it if you think it may be known to someone else, or after staff changes.
Change it in cPanel
- Log in to cPanel and open Preferences → Password & Security.
- Enter your Old Password.
- Enter a new, strong password twice, or click Password Generator.
- Click Change your password now!
Your main FTP login uses this same password, so update any FTP apps afterwards.
Forgot your password?
Log in to your client area — you can access cPanel from your hosting service there without the password — or open a ticket and we’ll reset it.
Tip: Turn on Two-Factor Authentication (under Security in cPanel) for extra protection.
