How to Redirect a Page or Domain in cPanel

Send visitors from an old address to a new one with a 301 or 302 redirect.

← Help Center

Redirects send visitors (and search engines) from one address to another — for example, from an old page to its replacement, or from a second domain to your main site.

Add a redirect

  1. Log in to cPanel and open Domains → Redirects.
  2. Choose the type: Permanent (301) for moves that won’t change back, or Temporary (302) for short-term changes.
  3. Choose the domain, and in the box after it enter the path to redirect (leave it empty to redirect the whole domain).
  4. Enter the full address to Redirect to, including https://.
  5. Choose www. redirection — usually Redirect with or without www.
  6. Click Add.

Tip: Use a 301 when you’ve moved a page for good. It tells search engines to transfer the old page’s ranking to the new one.

Remove a redirect

Find it under Current Redirects on the same page and click Delete.
