How to Check and Repair a MySQL Database

Fix “table is marked as crashed” and other database errors.

← Help Center

If your site shows errors like “Table is marked as crashed and should be repaired” or “Error establishing a database connection” after an outage, a quick repair often fixes it.

Check and repair

  1. Log in to cPanel and open Databases → MySQL Databases.
  2. Under Modify Databases, choose the database from Check Database and click Check Database.
  3. If problems are found, choose the same database under Repair Database and click Repair Database.

Tip: Download a database backup first (Files → Backup) if you can.

Still seeing errors? The problem may be the application’s settings rather than the database itself. Open a ticket and we’ll take a look.
