A subdomain is a separate section of your site with its own address, such as blog.yourdomain.com. It’s ideal for a blog, a store, or a staging copy of your site.
Create a subdomain
- Log in to cPanel and open Domains → Domains.
- Click Create A New Domain.
- Enter the full subdomain, for example blog.yourdomain.com.
- Leave Share document root unchecked so the subdomain gets its own folder, and accept the suggested Document Root (or choose your own).
- Click Submit.
Upload your files to the subdomain’s folder, or install an app like WordPress directly onto the subdomain.
Tip: On older versions of cPanel, use Domains → Subdomains instead. The fields are the same.
